re. WINDSCREEN WIPERS. 4475

We understand that it is desired to arrive at the best windscreen wiper on the market. You will have noticed a review of this subject in the Autocar of last week.

The writer has had a Stuart electric wiper fitted to his car for over a year. It functions well, but makes a noise, and in spite of repeated complaints, he has been unable to get a better model.

We understand that the best wiper is the Peerless as this has no gearing but is a double solenoid.

The Berkshire is the best motor type we know, but we have not tried the Bosch.

Of the vacuum wipers, until recently we have preferred the Folberth, but we believe that the Lucas is now preferable. We would add in connection with the vacuum wipers that when going round owners cars, it is not at all uncommon to find the pipe perished and broken.

We would be glad if you would test some of these wipers. If you like we will fit one of whichever kind you like to the 20HP. subframe body now at Barkers.

There is also a mechanically driven wiper by Smiths of which we have had no experience but which we understand is drawing considerable attention at the moment.
