For the attention of Mr.R.L.Neill.
Dear Sirs,
Could you tell us if the new type head lamps which were fitted to the Phantom III. chassis now running in France, and which called at your Works for the lamps to be altered, has the stronger dipper unit and stronger reflector return spring fitted.
Our testers in France have reported that on bad roads the dipping reflectors flutter badly. This is an old fault with Lucas lamps and we are disappointed to find that this has not been taken care of in these new lamps.
we must insist that on no account should these lamps be turned out on Production without this fault being remedied.
Yours faithfully,
FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
