Dear Sirs,
We beg to thank you for your letter of the 7th inst., The sample spring fixing has now come to hand, and we are engaged upon its adaptation to the test gauges for you. Furthermore, we will modify the gauges with glands which you are returning to us. These gauges are already fitted with brass castings.
We agree with your point with regard to adopting the best type of joint at both ends of the glass tube, but there are several considerations which must be taken into account in connection with this matter.
Firstly, the experience of the King-Seeley Corporation and ourselves has proved the necessity of the suppression of the small capillary tube at the top end of
