Messrs. Rolls Royce Limited, Nightingale Road, DERBY. Dear Sirs, Re BISHOP STEERING GEAR. We had the pleasure of constructing a special steering gear in response to the request contained in your letter of 21st November of last year, and this gear was despatched to you in March last. You will readily understand that the cost of manufacture of a special gear of this type bears no relation whatever to the price at which we could supply gears to you on a quantity basis, and the sample gear in question has cost us just over £20 to produce. We do not propose to ask you to pay the whole of this amount, but we suggest that we invoice up this one sample at £10, and shall be glad to hear if this is agreeable to you, in which case we will send you our invoice for it. Yours faithfully, For CAM GEARS LIMITED, R.{Sir Henry Royce} Pentony Director. Handwritten notes: Initials: HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Top right: x e o g e P. | ||
