UNIVERSAL COUPLING FOR HELICAL SECOND SPEED GEARS.

N. sch. 3639. herewith shews slight modifications to the universal coupling recently sent for Peregrine.

The spring rings are now retained in position and the endwise clearance increased to a minimum of 10/1000".

The thickness of the shaft sleeve is increased to .060, and attention is called to the need for hardening on the teeth on both ends of the universal sleeve.
