BANCROFT GEARBOX.
DAMPER GOVERNOR DRIVE.

We shew in M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} sch. 3638. herewith the coupling between the servo drive shaft and the damper governor.

The existing size of drawn square shaft is used, and a split clamped sleeve broached the same size as the servo shaft avoids any slotting or accurate pressing fits.

The direction of rotation of the governor will be the same as for the other cars, so the same hand of screw thread on the governor shaft retains the governor oil.

The shorter governor shaft that we shew should be used on all cars.

We are not certain that the simple scheme shewn will be sufficient to prevent gearbox oil getting into the governor unit, but if necessary an extra thread can be put on the governor shaft pumping into the gearbox with an annular space between the threads and drain to atmosphere.
