TO HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} FROM DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} ORIGINAL DA{Bernard Day - Chassis Design}1/M19.1.26. 8-EX. CAR. X8940a X7770 X8380 Referring to HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}3/LG14126., it rather looks as though it would be wise to abandon the subframe on the cantilever sprung cars, and confine our attention to bringing it in on EAC. 7. with semi-elliptic springs. We have already done a fair amount of work on this point in connection with the tie-bars on that frame, and think there is no reason why the EAC. 7. frame should not stand up. I have been waiting for EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} to return from his honeymoon before sending you something definite about this. We think that to carry on existing subframe experiments it may be desirable to reinforce the frame at the spring fulcrum by liners, or by making the frame a box section. We will send you instructions regarding this in the course of a day or so. DA.{Bernard Day - Chassis Design} | ||
