c. Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer} Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/FD.{Frank Dodd - Bodies} [strikethrough] 804 28th.October 1938. BY.2/N. Messrs.Park Ward & Co.Ltd., [strikethrough] 473, High Road, [strikethrough] Willesden. [strikethrough] London N.W.10. [strikethrough] Confidential. Dear Sirs, Re: Styling of Bentley 50. We have now somewhat finalised our design of the Four-Light and Six-Light bodies for the Bentley 50, based on the programme of construction which has already been discussed with yourselves on several occasions viz. the two bodies are exactly alike except for a different rear quarter. We would be glad if you would go ahead now making a complete mock/up of the Six-Light car which should have an interchangeable back, so that we can change it into a Four-Light for inspection purposes. It will be necessary to put in hand a full size drawing, and we shall be glad to discuss this with you, and also the method of construction, and the cost of the mock up during our visit to your Works already fixed for Wednesday next November 2nd. We enclose herewith our design of the two bodies, the Six-Light PD.279 and the Four-Light PD.280. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LIMITED. [Signature: W Harvey Bailey] CHIEF ENGINEER - CHASSIS | ||
