The following is a list of chassis troubles and an explanation of the work done or being carried out :- 1 Rocker cover oil leaks B.80 2 Water pump squeaks B.80 3 Slow running B.80 4 Piston blowby B.80 5 Noisy tappets B.80 6 Water in the servo B.80 7 Noisy heaters All cars. 8 Electric choke All cars. 9 Servo Jaggers B.80 10 Petrol consumption B.80 & Ripple. Rocker cover oil leaks. These have been caused by the sealing joint shrinking there being no inner lip or groove in the cover to prevent this. An alum lip has been rivetted inside the cover to hold this in position. A second cover is on test with alum strips inside the cover supporting the joint at the ends and centre. Both schemes are giving equally good results, but the latter is much cheaper method. Water pump squeaks. Caused by the end thrust on the bakelite washer inside the pump.
