Brush Holders.

Type Bosch type of two each.
Brushes. Eight. Carbon & Graphite & (supposed) German
Silver 1" x 1" x ½"

Gear. Fixed.
Connections. Braided copper wire, sweated into thimble and
screwed into brush.
Springs. Tension on brushes, by ribbon springs of silicon
bronze .250" x .040" with 4½ convolutions. See
sketch.

Area of
brush. Covering two segments of commutator.


X.1640. Armature.

Core. Laminated. 28 S.W.G. Length 8" dia. 6".
Commutator. 32 commutator bars. Commutator bridges half way.
Ends to every 4 bars about .093" square section
copper wire. See sketch.

Winding. .093" square section copper wire. Two layers
parallel wound, former wound.

Size. Width 2¼" dia. 3¾"

X.3331. Field Coils.

Core. Laminated. 28 S.W.G. each insulated. 140 laminations
per pole.
