Dear Sirs,

Regarding the 3 Monikrom camshafts you cast for us to our drawing EW.1416 we now have one on test and up to the moment appears quite satisfactory, we have not, however, carried out any extensive running as yet, but will inform you later as to their progress.

We understand that you have a cast material which is suitable for the production of gear wheels and has good anti-noise properties in which case we are contemplating the trial of this type of material as a camwheel.

Attached is a drawing of a camwheel somewhat similar to the type we shall require and would like your comments before we proceed any further with a detail drawing.

The most important thing is, of course, whether the gear teeth of this wheel Rm.{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}474 would be suitable or whether it is necessary to have a finer tooth pitch with this material, however, we await your recommendations before proceeding any further with the job.

Yours faithfully,

for ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
