SHOCK ABSORBER FILLING PLUGS.

With reference to EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}2/H16.10.28. The 20 HP. filler plug in its present position is undoubtedly inaccessible with the majority of rear wings fitted to RR. cars. The original position of this plug on the inside could be got at quite nicely under the floorboards, and equally well down the pit. We consider it would be as well to revert to the original position of the filler plug, increasing the depth of the boss slightly to get a somewhat higher level. This will overcome the coachbuilders trouble. The Instruction Book should mention the method of getting at this filler.

The 40/50 filler can be got at through the floor-boards but the angle at which the plug is set makes it difficult to get a box spanner on it without fouling the frame.
