COPY WILLIAM ARNOLD MOTOR ENGINEER AND BODYBUILDER. YOUR REF: EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}3/MH.{M. Huckerby} OUR REF: WA{Mr Wallis}/DL. UPPER BROOK ST.{Capt. P. R. Strong} MANCHESTER 13. Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., D E R B Y. FOR THE KIND ATTENTION OF MR.PLATFORD. Dear Mr. Platford, Many thanks for your kind letter of the 31st.ulto. regarding the fault on my 20/25 h.p. demonstration car. I am afraid however, that it is not a matter which can be left over, and you will understand this when I explain that I have at least three prospective clients I want to take out in the car. After my experience on Rolls-Royce cars, I would not under any circumstances, take this particular car out as being a fair example of the product. When Mr. Waldron was here I certainly went a short run after he had carried out the adjustments he thought advisable, but this fault is more marked naturally, when one goes for a reasonable run, and when I took the car a matter of 25 miles to the Prestbury Golf Links, which is a fairly give and take road, I felt really upset. Fortunately I was alone, therefore, no harm was done, but had I a prospective client in the car, I should most certainly have had to make excuses and apologies for this fault. I am sure you will appreciate that this is a matter which requires immediate attention. | ||
