Water Connections on Ph.III, Bentley & 25/30.

Our attention has been drawn by the shop to the state of various rubber hose and Dermatine water joints which have been removed from cars after a fairly long period of service. These had swelled in a manner likely to reduce the water flow, and the hose was in a very bad condition.

Enquiries from the Repair Department indicate that their experience is similar.

We therefore propose to change the type of hose and substitute Klingerite jointing for Dermatine at all flange water joints. With this in view will you please carry out the following -

(1) Substitute Klingerite for Dermatine jointing on any flange joints of the water connections on 6-B-IV.

(2) Fit Leyland 'PR' hose of the type used on the aero test beds to 6-B-IV, in place of present standard hose water connections.

(3) Fit Leyland 'PR' hose in place of standard hose to all cars as they come into the shop in order that we may get running experience on this type of hose.
