PHANTOM ENGINE GUARDS.

Referring to Pt6/EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}10.10.28. in which Pt. points out that the louvred engine guards permit of the easy ingress of mud, we understand him here to mean the engine louvred undershield, this being so we did not think there was any material difference in this particular fitting between a Phantom and a Silver Ghost.

What are your experiences in France? We were under the impression present guards were considered quite satisfactory. This may be, however, because in France the car is driven at high speeds whereas on bad Australian roads the car would possibly have to be driven comparatively slowly, under which circumstances wheels splashing into pot holes of mud and water might throw the mud in such a manner that it would pass through the undershield.
