(5) The means of attaching the road spring to the axle should be as per our recent Lec. drawing dealing with this part.

(6) The axle tube, Mr. Royce thinks, is on the strong side, and he would like to see the modulus drawing for the new shape.

In the Lec. drawing dealing with the brake actuating mechanism on the rear axle, a certain thickness was shown for the axle tube opposite the serrated portion. This was not an authentic dimension, and appears to be more than is required. If N. scheme 744 has been based on this for the section opposite the rear spring some reduction should be made in thickness.
