Re-Mr.Royce's 20 HP car at Le CanadelHenry Royce's French residence.

Your memo ref.Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}4/LG8.2.24 to hand, enclosing copy of your letter dated 5th inst., concerning above car and the three month's licence you wish us to obtain for same.

Having now very little time left before the expiration of the Laissez-passer, viz. 14th inst., we have at once telegraphed to Mr.F.Dodd, at Le CanadelHenry Royce's French residence, asking him for all the papers of the car, and if everything reaches us in time, we shall arrange at our end to obtain the licence in question from the local authorities in Nice, with whom we are well acquainted.

As Mr.Cartmell left the Company on the 31st of January, your original letter addressed to him has been very likely re-forwarded to England where he is actually staying. We regret same was not addressed to the firm, as we should have known then about taking that licence sooner.

However, we trust we shall have enough time to do the necessary before the 14th.

O.{Mr Oldham} Horn
NICE DEPOT

Encl: copy of a letter to F.DODD.

PS- Your assumption is correct: Mr.Cartmell has left the Company, and Mr.Allen is replacing him.
