Dear Sirs,
For the attention of Mr. Swindall -
Chassis Experimental Engineer.
-------------------------------
We have pleasure in confirming our appreciation of the interview which yourself and Mr. Robotham kindly granted to our Mr. C.H. Mallinson and the writer.
Regarding the modus operandi to be adopted for testing the high tension cast-to-form rings, we would venture to suggest that truly comparable results would be obtained if the test engine was first run in its standard form, the necessary observations being taken of blow-by.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer}
The necessary rings are at present in hand and will be consigned to you shortly. As soon as these are in your possession, the writer proposes to again communicate with you, with a view to affording all possible co-operation on the forthcoming test.
In the meantime perhaps you will care to consider the above-mentioned suggestion.
Yours faithfully,
p.p. HEPWORTH & GRANDAGE LTD.
W.A. Wilson.
Chief Technical Representative.
Handwritten note: Mr JMR
