Re: FITTING LARGE CAPACITY OIL PUMPS
TO BENTLEY 3 1/2 AND 4 1/4 LITRE CHASSIS.

Instructions have been issued by us to our seasonal Depots that, when a 4 1/4 litre car is sent to them for attention, they must ascertain if the car is fitted with a large oil pump. If not, they must fit one, irrespective whether the car is domiciled permanently in France. We take it that you will be in agreement.

As far as our records indicate, all 4 1/4 litre cars permanently domiciled in France have been fitted with a large oil pump.

For your information, Mr. Allsop, owner of chassis B.18.FB, called upon us yesterday afternoon with his car and asked us to adjust the brakes etc.. prior to his departure for Cannes to-day.

We observed that this car was fitted with a small oil pump. We explained the position to the owner re the advisability of having a large oil pump fitted and offered to fit one for the special price of Frs.650. We were unable to get the owner to accept to pay for a new pump, so we have fitted one, from a security point of view. This car is still under the guarantee.

We shall be glad to have a ruling from you as soon as possible concerning the fitting of large capacity oil pumps to 3 1/2 litre chassis on which the guarantee has or has not expired and which are not permanently domiciled in France.

As you are aware, we and our seasonal Depots have to attend to a number of Bentley cars from England, Switzerland and Belgium, etc...
