RE. IGNITION PLUGS.

we have tried the Lodge X.317 plugs. There is no sign of preignition at high speeds. They cut out the flat spots in the carburation. There has been no sign of misfires upon acceleration from low speeds. They have occasionally fired after being switched off with throttle in slow running position. We have had no plugs free from this feature.

Comparing the plugs tested, we have had the best all round results with Lodge X.306.

we have tried the car after having the clutch down and a general look round.

MAXIMUM REBOUND.

we find that we break a string 7.5" long but cannot break one 8" long fixed between the axle and frame. This is when travelling at 70 m.p.h. and going over ridges which we know give us the maximum rebound. 19-EX and this car are the only two cars that we have been able to drive over these ridges at this speed without leaping in the air.

TRANSMISSION RATTLES.

we have made a considerable improvement and have got back to the state when we reported having overcome them.

The periods are 10-12 m.p.h. cured.
16-17 " 50% improvement.
30-33 " cured.

STEERING.

The load having dropped to 25 ins/lbs on the side steering tube accounted for the noticeable increase in joggles. We have brought this up to our original setting of 50 ins/lbs with the result that the steering is again
