-2- Speedometer drive cannot be attached and dismantled from gearbox without first undoing brake pedal shaft housing. STEERING. Selectiveness improved by making rear end of side steering tube solid. Cross steering tube fouled front tray and oil pump due to wear of control arm contacts. Knocking at front traced to contacts for ball end of control dampers. REAR AXLE. Roar for noise - no mechanical defects. No oil leaks. Bijur pipe flattened out by stones etc. (Should be fitted to rear). PROPELLER SHAFT. Oil leaks mechanics joints - fitters fault. Short prop. shaft - male serrations hammering into female serrations CLUTCH. RAD.13 material fitted ( mileage 3857), very smooth in engagement, no sign of slipping. Various rubbers tried for transmission rattle. Transmission rattle - chiefly due to slackness in gearbox. WHEELS. Outer spokes breaking - bad design. FAN BELT. Stretching - oversize, not sufficient adjustment. WING. N.S.F. wing badly cracked and flapped about - fitting of extra stay stopped flapping. BODYWORK. Draughty and not waterproof. Doors liable to spring off main catch. ELECTRICAL EQUIPMENT. Dynamo troubles (output not sufficient) with resistances cut out. Starter motor troubles - takes too much current. | ||
