Re Phantom Chassis - Revised Steering column and Magneto Controls to eliminate "Click-on" type Ball Joints.

Further to our memo BY/CS5/DB.{Donald Bastow - Suspensions}5.5.27, in which we asked for information regarding the above controls, we would like again to bring to your notice the fact that "click-on" type joints are still being fitted on production in four instances, viz:- Magneto, Steering column, Radiator shutter and Carb:Throttle controls.

Designs to LeC's 2188, 2200/1 were instructed to be fitted experimentally by our memo BY/CS5/DB.{Donald Bastow - Suspensions}5.3.26 which eliminated the "click-on" joints on the magneto and steering column controls, and we understand have since been fitted satisfactorily to various Exptl:cars.

The "Click-on" type joint for the Radiator Shutter Control will disappear shortly on production, when the integral type shutters are fitted, and only the carb: throttle control need be fitted with a "click-on" type joint as we have no design to replace this one yet.

The new type magneto joint is as shown thus -

and the new type steering column joint is as shown thus -
