E. {Mr Elliott - Chief Engineer} ~~W/B.~~ C. C. to Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} C. to Mx. {John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} V4118 Hm {Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} 16/W30.1.29. Chassis GCK-54. Mrs. Gloag. " GSK-69. Tomkins. Your C23/C29.1.29. I have mentioned two cars above in reply to your memo, as these are two cases of a similar nature in the same District. I have discussed this matter with Hs. {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} and Mx. {John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} and it has been agreed that we recommend training a special man in the way we are turning out 20HP. Slipper Drives on latest production cars, and that later we send him to Hove to attend to Mrs.Gloag's and Mr. Tomkins' cars. Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} 's point is that if the Slipper Drive goes wrong, the knock will be there even though a stiffer Crankshaft is fitted, and we should first make the slipper drive so that it will remain right. Mx. {John H Maddocks - Chief Proving Officer} is of the opinion that if we carry out the latest practice the slipper drive should remain right. We should be able to get the man away some time next week if you agree to our recommendations. Hm. {Capt. W. Hallam - Head Repairs} | ||
