To HY.{Tom Haldenby - Plant Engineer} from HDY.{William Hardy} SECRET. HDY.{William Hardy}1/HP.18.6.35. c.W.or.E.HS.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} SpectreCodename for Phantom III Gearbox. Dr.RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer}HS{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls} Will you kindly reduce the strength of the gear lever centralising spring G.81795 from 3 1/2 lbs at 7.7" (which is what we make the length in neutral working from the detail drawings) to 2 1/4 lbs at the same length. We consider that this reduction can be made as according to our measurements with a spring balance this spring is stronger on the SpectreCodename for Phantom III than on the Phantom or 20/25.
