X4400 To BY. {R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /Gy. Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /Gy1/LG1 7.6.29. X5420 We have now tried the non-return type of Enots fitting for the 20 HP. front and rear axle G.53802/3. Both are quite satisfactory in so far as the oil retaining properties are concerned, but in the case of the rear, there is some question of the internal hole in the brass barrel registering with the external hole in the steel housing if N.Sch.2902 is rigidly adhered to. We therefore suggest that 4 holes .105" dia. be drilled in the external housing and 3 holes .062" dia. in the internal fitting. The first is accomplished by drilling 2 .105" holes right through at the required distance but the 3 internal holes which Benton & Stones will be advised to drill will not be right through but must register with the internal bore. We should be glad if you will instruct this immediately as the Test Dept. are urgently requiring same. Hs {Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} /Gy. | ||
