The importance of body stiffening on SpectreCodename for Phantom III was debated, also the introduction of engineering principles into body design and construction. The value of the knowledge gained on these matters at W. must be conveyed to the Coachbuilders in due course in connection with all SpectreCodename for Phantom III coachwork if we are to obtain full benefit on the complete car and the method of procedure in this matter is to be decided upon. As a preliminary it is proposed that S and Ev{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} shall come to London to meet S. on the matter, after which it is intended to call a meeting of the Coachbuilders concerned. C. to fix date.

Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} suggested that 70% of the chassis could be proceeded with in respect of ordering material forthwith for an advance batch of 20 chassis.

As regards the Motor Show, it is proposed to produce 8 chassis for exhibiting there and to give us in addition the next 2 experimental chassis for demonstration purposes.

A body programme for these demonstration cars, and those chassis of the 8 which will be exhibited on the R-R Stand, to be considered forthwith. S. to advise W. of the latest dates on which these chassis can be accepted in London for completion in time for the Show. Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} indicated January 1936 as date for the remaining 12 chassis. Re date for production to really commence, Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} said he would require longer time to study this.

Re comparative costs, Wor{Arthur Wormald - General Works Manager} said that so far as they had at present gone the costs appeared to be rather less than those of the Phantom.

It was decided to reassemble the Cadillac body and put it back on the chassis so that same should be available for comparative tests with SpectreCodename for Phantom III. JLS is being askedto arrange for the same men to start putting the body together as were employed for dismantling it.

PHANTOMS

It was decided after discussion not to manufacture the last 83 of "W" series out of a total of 125, but that all chassis prior to the last 83 be completed forthwith.
