LES BY.7/G.9.3.38. WRAITH - STEEL CASTINGS. As a result of a discussion with RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} on the above matter, based on my memo BY.5/G.8.3.38. in order to make certain that we do not get down on deliveries or quality, I have decided to split the order between Jessops and Gabriels, and incidentally to carry Hopkinsons along with a few experimental castings as a standby. RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} agrees that it is most important that we should get the castings at the lowest possible price, but is afraid of trusting to Gabriels alone in the absence of experience with them, in case they were able to /not produce castings free from serious defects. In this connection again, however, I would remark that I am quite prepared to weld up blow holes which are not in serious positions in regard to stress concentration. BY.{R.W.
