We now think that the adoption of a continuous cam ring and better cut gears with the more satisfactory electrical performance will provide us with a magneto which will pass our specification and satisfy the test dept as regards noise. The next point to determine with these magnetos is whether any serious depreciation occurs in the electrical performance with service i.e will it be possible to satisfactorily start the engine cold with an EW6 magnetos say after 5000 mls?
