The McNab Rotor Hydraulic Shock Absorber is the greatest advance in automobile riding comfort since the adoption of the large diameter (balloon) tires.
The increased diameter or area of tires makes possible the desired buoyancy with low air pressure. In like manner, the greatly increased piston area of the McNAB ROTOR makes possible the desired control of spring action with extremely low hydraulic pressure, and furnishes the correct resistance combined with resilience and flexibility obtainable only with a low pressure device.
The Construction and Principle of Operation
of the McNab ROTOR HYDRAULIC SHOCK ABSORBER illustrated in Fig. 1 and Fig. 2 being observed, and the comparatively large piston area and fluid capacity in this instrument being considered, there can be no doubt as to the superiority of the McNAB ROTOR HYDRAULIC SHOCK ABSORBER for the highly efficient control of spring action necessary for smooth, comfortable riding.
The low pressure hydraulic feature of the McNAB ROTOR, due to its large effective piston area, is a radical departure from the general design of devices of this class. The large volume of hydraulic fluid which it displaces assures the absolute control of free spring action over ever changing conditions of road surface and speed.
The McNAB ROTOR assures riding comfort by keeping the wheels on the road, increasing the traction, and preventing front wheel “shimmy”. Shocks from road projections and hollows are absorbed by this unique low pressure hydraulic system before reaching the body of the car, insuring a smooth, unbroken plane of travel, which gives a feeling of GLIDING when riding.
