Jeal Dear Sirs, We thank you for your letter of 24th January enclosing your drawings RBS.1920 - Windscreen Glass (2 sheets) and RBS.1921 - Backlight Glass, for our comments on design and expected manufacturing tolerances. We have carefully considered the drawings and comment as under:- Windscreen Considerable difficulty may be experienced in producing the sharply curved ends of the screen where the minimum radius appears to be approximately 5" compared with the recommended minimum of 7" to 8" mentioned in the notes enclosed with Dr. Waine's letter to Mr. Manley of the 16th January. We would also suggest that the extreme tip of the screen should terminate with a radius preferably not less than ½", thus giving a glass less likely to damage during manufacture, transit and fitting into the car. Backlight Here again the minimum radius is only about 5" instead of the 7" minimum which we recommend to reduce the risk of severe Continued... | ||
