X.1357. X.206. X.294. Re Lighting Dynamos and Outfits. --------------------------- W. to S. TBB7/L6113. Mr. Cowen 6-1-13. You will remember we used to fit as standard the very large head lamps "G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} large" type. I am not quite sure whether you are still recommending these to our customers but we have recently made tests of some smaller C.A.V. head lamps " F.{Mr Friese} medium" type, and find that there is not really very much difference in the light obtained. Mr. Royce prefers the smaller model for several reasons, one being the fact that one is considerably hampered in starting the engine if these big lamps are fitted. Mr. Royce has raised other points which he wished to be brought to the notice of customers when deciding which head lamps should be used. The following are his remarks:- 1. We carry this extra weight always. 2. We only have the benefit while the lamps are lighted 3. Model "G" is absolutely dangerous. 4. Saving in weight is an enormous proportion. 5. Extra weight is in a very bad position. 6. The iron work for carrying the bgi lamp would have to be heavier. Will you kindly bear these noted in mind when discussing with customers the question of seze of head lamps | ||
