RE SPORTS PHANTOM IO EX.

X8830
X8170

We note that you do not propose to fetch IOEX from W.W. until about two weeks time when it will be replaced by 12EX.

We send herewith N.Schs2252-3 shewing the proposed new wings etc. Will Derby please send us one extra print for sending to the coachbuilders.

It will be necessary for the following modifications to be made to the chassis before it is sent to the coachbuilders:-

(1) Remove the rear wheel carrier if thought necessary.
(2) Supply taper plugs to all the wing and lamp socket fixings.
(3) Fit special pendulum lever cover to design N.Sch.1851.
(4) Fit raised step-irons. If these are not avialable will Derby please set them out.
(5) Remove the present wings etc if it is thought that they might be of any further use for test purposes.
(6) Remove the dipping head lamp lever on the column and the vertical rods to the lamps. The rest of the gear can remain in position as we may wish to revert to it at a later date.
(7) To make the car right the revised "D" type steering and pedals should be fitted, for which this body was designed. We will leave it to Derby to decide whether they can do this or not.

If Derby will kindy notify EV.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork} when the chassis is being delivered to the coachbuilders he we see that the modifications as specified are carried out.
