| To BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} from E/JNR.{Charles L. Jenner} c. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} Sft.{Mr Swift} RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} E/JNR.{Charles L. Jenner}IO/HP.6.7.33. re Bentley - Front Apron Dumb Iron Covers. We send you herewith LeC.3561. On Brooklands track the front apron of the Bentley car fell off, no doubt due to the movement of the front dumb irons. In this design that we are sending you we have introduced some flexibility by holding the apron to the underside of the frame with six rubber buttons, the apron being positioned only by the two rear bolts. Also on the drawing we have extended the front dumb irons covers much further forward to improve the appearance. There is no cutaway for the spring shackle on the inner side. This was requested by Sales. Drawing to BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} Print to RHC.{R. H. Coverley - Production Engineer} E/JNR.{Charles L. Jenner} | ||
