STEERING.

Steering light; very unstable at high speeds, requires constantly checking. Slight tendency to stick after cornering. Steering can be made to jamb when car is stationary. No wobbles obtained high or low speed. There appears to be excessive slack in steering; check side steering tube springs. Controls rattle badly in steering column.

"

BRAKES.

Operation fairly good and smooth.
Servo judders if brakes are applied briskly.
Both front brakes squeak badly; rear brakes grunt on application.
Front brake operating camshafts slack in their bearings; rattle over rough roads.
The modified front dust covers are highly efficient, no foreign matter of any description found in brakes; only ferodo dust. These should be standardised. Front brake drums in good condition; only slightly scored.

"

GENERAL.

Engine performance appears to be below the general average. Faulty speedometer tends to give a false impression. Reads 6.75 miles fast at 20 m.p.h. ; 5 m.p.h. fast at 30 m.p.h. 1.25 m.p.h. fast at 40 m.p.h. and appears to read slow over 50 m.p.h.
