We have received your memos. re steering wandering. In our opinion we do not think you have got the true idea of the wandering. Wandering may be a wrong expression, continual diving may express it more concise. It is worse with a load in the rear, 35 lbs. front tyre pressures brings it up and makes the car very unstable, 30 lbs. front tyre pressure makes it as stable as can be obtained. The feeling is as if the whole frame suddenly goes over to one side and the other.

We have however carried out the recessing of the extra two slots in the thrust washer and will give you the results after tomorrow's run up to Paris.
We carried out an oil consumption test on 22.G.V. this morning with poor results.

Miles......... 169
Average speed..... 44 MPH.
Oil consumption.... 450 MPG.
Petrol consumption. 12.8 MPG.

With the original carburetter there is hardly any sign of hesitation and no sign of weakness at 50 MPH.

We shall attend to the Paris Trials car while up there.
