Production Position and Comments: Schatz Bearings for gearbox 1st. and 3rd. motion shafts, to prevent 'chunking' can be introduced at the 1st. chassis in 'D' series without scrap. No tool cost is involved but there is an increase in Factory cost of 9/6d. per chassis. It is intended that normal deep groove type bearings with reduced end clearance be used on 'C' series, but it is considered that further and more permanent improvement would be obtained by the use of Schatz bearings.
