DERBY. Ref: Exptl.Dept.Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale}11/KW. Dear Sirs, re: Your Order No.15494. We thank you for your letter of the 2nd inst, and note that the electric oil level gauge is required for Mr. Hall's racing car. In view of this we are arranging to supply a large (82 m/m diameter) Meter which will match the special petrol gauge which is also being supplied for this car. With regard to the Oil Sump Unit, this, as called for in your letter of the 27th ult, ref:Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/AFM.{Anthony F. Martindale}11/KW, will be the 3 wire type and we have pleasure in enclosing herewith print Y.47142 showing layout of sump unit in your sump to drawing EB.2861. From this drawing you will note that it has been necessary to make a number of modifications to the sump unit as compared with your drawing and we have marked on our print the essential points. We shall be glad if you will kindly confirm that it will be in order to proceed with a sump unit to our drawing. The sump unit will require a special casting and it will therefore be some little time before we can let you have delivery. Everything possible is being done to urge completion; we shall be glad however, if you will let us know the latest date by which these instruments must be delivered. Yours faithfully, for S. SMITH & SONS (MOTOR ACCESSORIES) LIMITED. M.A.Russell. ELECTRICAL ENGINEER. P.S. Drawing not quite complete, dimensioned print will follow. To avoid delay all envelopes should be addressed to the firm. | ||
