Sidgreaves - MD} has agreed to our ordering material for 100 'U' Series chassis in order that continuity of output can be maintained. This material however, should not be delivered until January 1st 1932 unless it can be proved to me that there are isolated cases where material is required earlier in order to keep up continuity of output. You will appreciate we do not want to load our Works with material before the end of the year which would increase our stocks, unless it is absolutely essential in certain cases to avoid delay in output. The specification will, as agreed, be based on 18-G-4, which is now running 10,000 miles in France, and as mentioned in the Minutes of our Conference held on the 25th, the gearbox and exhaust systems should be held up for the time being for the reasons mentioned therein. In the case of the gearbox, however, we can order billets for the gears. This series of car will be fitted with the larger petrol tank, and it is hoped also they will have the rivetless bonnet.
