(8) The 1st and 2nd and reverse forks are made detachable from the selectors.

(9) For assembling the above forks the hole in the top of the box left by the removal of the change gear tower has a detachable cover and is not cast solid.

(10) The rear of the box is suspended as before.

(11) The brake gear levers on the servo and the servo countershaft are inverted. This necessitates different angular positions of levers and servo cams with helix of opposite hand.

(12) The servo dashpot is removed from its present position and should be attached to the lower part of the front of the box in front of the balancer lever and connected to the bottom of this lever instead of the top.
We have now shown the arrangement of this as we think it best left either until you have prepared accurate detail drawings or until the box is in the chassis.

The gearbox should have:-

(1) Ratios to EX.11319.

(2) Wider 1st speed driven gear to EX.14374.

(3) 1st and 2nd motion shaft in SZNCR as specified in Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}4/KW.3.5.34.

(4) Special R.{Sir Henry Royce} & M.{Mr Moon / Mr Moore} double purpose thrust bearing on side shaft as on Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1381.

_________

Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}1384 shows the arrangement of the couplings and the clutch housing.

(1) The size of the fabric couplings is as recommended by Messrs. Hardy Spicer and should be supplied by them drilled and with reinforcing plate rivetted on.

(2) The clutch housing is capable of taking the new type of clutch to N.Sch.3948.

(3) The pedal shaft is not supported on the clutch housing as before but on the rear engine crossmember.

(4) The clutch shaft bearing should be lubricated from the Bijur system.
