SKETCH 1. Reverse unit, hold this - anchored by friction brake and pawls. Direct & indirect clutch control. Servo. 1st. 2nd. 3rd. Car drive. Serrated. Forward drive. Reverse. Direct. Indirect. Reverse control shaft. This & the shaft above can exchange positions. Engine drive via clutch. A B C Reverse may be driven by any speed, preferably 2nd. All gears are always in mesh & balanced, tooth engagements are slow, silent, and efficient. Well adapted for (1) control by brakes (2nd. & 3rd.) freewheel 1st., (2) by brakes (light) and pawls equal to Synchro-mesh, or (3) Salerni with baulk rings. | ||
