Dear Sirs, We thank you for your letter of the 29th of October explaining that you will defer your visit to this Works until Mr. Chandler or Mr. Martindale should be coming. In the meantime the writer would like to suggest that we prepare for you a fan-belt built on the principle which we have adopted for our production so that tests may be proceeded with against the time that our factory will be in production because, while it is true that our plant will not be ready until January 1938 for full production, we can supply a small number of belts. If you would be good enough, therefore, to let us have details of key dimensions of all the sizes of belts you use and, in particular, the size which you would like for test purposes we will proceed with the matter without delay. We can assure you that this project has been receiving our research departments attention for nearly a year now and we are reasonably satisfied that the belt we shall produce will be of outstanding quality.
