To EP.{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer} from R.{Sir Henry Royce} c. to CJ. BJ. c. to OY. Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} BY.{R.W. Bailey - Chief Engineer} X741 R1/M2.1.23. RE. PISTON RING STOPS X.741. X.3666. I was very please to hear that Springfield had returned to our standard system of pinning the rings, and presume they are in our standard position, and form. Naturally one next asks who is responsible for departing from our standard and without even advising us, let alone obtaining our permission, and also why was this departure made. Mr. Johnson will perhaps enquire into this; discipline in these matters is quite necessary, and I must insist upon it. R.{Sir Henry Royce} | ||
