X1166 Exptl. Dept. Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Gry.{Shadwell Grylls}17/JH. 13th August, 1936. Messrs. D.{John DeLooze - Company Secretary} Sessions & Co.Ltd., 906, Harrow Road, Willesden, LONDON. N.W.10. Dear Sirs, With regard to the testing which we have been carrying out on the rams, having loose rubbers, the two rear ones were fitted to a car and the two front ones to a rig, driven by your engine pump. Of the two fitted on the car, one leaks immediately and the other would not retract. Both these were handed to Mr. Lindall while he was at the Works, and he told us that he could not reproduce the trouble. The two which we fitted to the rig were inverted to suit the aparatus, but did not leak until they had done 1,000 pounds weight about 20 times. We are returning these to the Birmingham works addressed for your personal attention. In the meantime we should be glad if you could despatch for use in the Experimental Department, two hand pumps and two replenishing tanks which we urgently need. Yours faithfully, FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD. | ||
