- 2 - The front axle will have to be the present standard. I do not see any possibility of bringing in the new front axle for this series, although here again it would possibly be policy to order up 100 sets only of the present type material. In connection with wheels in this Department, both front and rear, Order Office will only order up a month's supply at a time of the S.S. type, which we should put on Order for the new series, as the well-base rim is about to be standardized. This will involve the use of R.R. type hydraulic shock dampers on the front axle at least, and it is desirable to get the same type shock damper on the rear axle. "F" Dept. We should introduce the new petrol tank having the increased filler capacity, as Mr. is anxious to incorporate this as quickly as possible. Before, however, definitely committing ourselves to these fittings, we ought to make sure that Sales have seen the chassis with the new filler fitted. Mr. Booth will note that the possible change from S.S. type wheels to wellbase rim type is being arranged for by not ordering more than one month's supply at a time of our requirements, and that the present shock absorbers, for front and rear, are only to be ordered up in small quantities. "B" Dept. In regard to 'D' Dept. there are no modifications which I know of, which should be incorporated. If any of the Departments are in doubt about any points in addition to those mentioned, where possibly improvements ought to be made, will they kindly see me about the matter before instructing.
