To Hs.{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair} From GWH.{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} X4057 Hotel de France, Chateauroux, France. 8.2.33. 3 PER. 11. We are enclosing a report from J.{Mr Johnson W.M.} C. Bowering re an accident he had with 3 PER. 11 whilst running the afternoon shift. The car was not damaged in any way, the rear wheel of the cyclist wedged under the O S front wing and dumb iron. I got in touch with Paris and they advised giving our insurance address and assuring that we had reported the matter to the insurance, leaving it at that. The man however refused to accept the address of the insurance Co. and had no permanent address. He insisted upon having 500 frs. claiming damage to cycle and three days lost wages. We therefore again got in touch with Paris, and they advised that under the circumstances it would be the best to pay up provided that we got the man's signature, disclaiming any further damages. We propose doing this right away and trust to the insurance people accepting it. G.W.H. G.{Mr Griffiths - Chief Accountant / Mr Gnapp} W. Hancock. | ||
