re. Experimental Sports Car. - 17-EX.

With further reference to the above, which has gone through its final test this morning.

We take it from information received that this has been sold as a second-hand car, and has been accepted accordingly. While it is in good condition, I cannot accept same as a new car.

As we have had no reply to our EP{G. Eric Platford - Chief Quality Engineer}8/H13.11.28. we assume that as far as the special features are concerned, the same applies as in the case of 16-EX. For example, the brakes of this car are rather special and different from standard and inclined to suffer from squeaking and groaning, and although cannot be called really objectionable are not up to our standard production chassis in this respect.

The Experimental Dept. confirm the fact that the brakes are special on this car and this feature, although may be temporarily cured, cannot, with this type of brakes, be definitely eliminated.

The flexible drive for the Smith screen wiper appears to be broken. Although we have made enquiries, there is not a new drive available at the Works. The Works suggest that this can be rectified or replaced more easily by the makers in London. Can you please arrange for this to be done.
