From GWH{George W. Hancock - Head Chateauroux} x6553a - 2 - 2.4.33. too small and oil from the throws of the crank poured out. The engine was smothered in oil. This would not be noticed by me so much during his run because the breather pipe was connected up to the carburetter and the engine was consuming the oil. To overcome the oil fling out, we have fitted an expansion chamber on the top of the filler pipe. The oil flung out hits the top of the chamber and drains back. The outlet pipe is let into the top and protudes approx. one and a half inches down into the chamber. It is then led to the carburetter to take away the fumes. There is no sign of oil or oily vapour coming out. It has considerably reduced the oil leak into the clutch pit. A quantity of oil used to run out of the clutch casing every time the car stopped, now there is only a few drops. We hope to stop it altogether. G.W.Hancock. G.W.H. | ||
