Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/Swdl.{Len H. Swindell}3/AP.12.6.31.

We have sent a set of connecting rod shells to Messrs. Walker Bros. of Wigan. These are of a different type to the first set and require metalling on both sides for which we are forwarding them a jig.

One thing we cannot understand is that when we first approached you with regard to metalling with NS{Norman Scott}5, you referred us to Messrs. Walker Bros. to do the job. The next set we required metalling and which they now have awaiting our jig to do the job, they apparently communicate with the Magnolia Anti Friction Metal Co.

The above means that we have to communicate and duplicate our correspondence to all three firms.

For convenience can this not be cut down to one centre to the advantage of all concerned.

Yours faithfully,

FOR ROLLS-ROYCE LTD.
