E/Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}5/MN. 2nd. March, 1935. 3. Although on our drawings we call for a normal packing of .500 ins. on the main body brackets in some cases approximately twice this amount had to be used to get the body at the right height at the front, and to clear the chassis at the rear. We suggest we should check over the positions of the body brackets on the jig. 4. The body bottom side at the front had not been built out each side, and been provided with a ramp to match up with the sloping footboard and floorboards belonging to the chassis. You have received a print of the chassis floor and footboards, LeC 3923, which shows the way in which the body should be built up to the ends of these sheet aluminium boards. 5. There is a short in the wiring to the offside traffic indicator somewhere in the bottom of the centre pillar, and a great amount of work will have to be carried out to put the job right. We suggest that the body wiring should be coupled up to a battery and tested in future before the body is delivered. 6. The height of the inside edge of the wing at the radiator was greater than the 1.750 ins. dimension called for on Ev.{Ivan Evernden - coachwork}S 129, and the wing fouled two nuts on the radiator side. We suggest that a ledge be formed on the jig representing the wing height at this point so that the wing maker can work his wing to the required shape. 7. The hinges of the lower lid{A. J. Lidsey} of the rear luggage opening fouled the petrol tank and had to be filed. We think the hinge arms could be reduced in size. Contd: | ||
