EXTENSION No. YOUR REF: OUR REF: WB.{Mr Brazier/Mr Bell}LW.S.279 FORT DUNLOP ERDINGTON BIRMINGHAM 27th September 1929. Messrs. Rolls-Royce Ltd., DERBY. For attention of Mr. Robotham. Dear Sirs, With further regard to your favour of the 16th inst. (reference Hs{Lord Ernest Hives - Chair}/Rm{William Robotham - Chief Engineer}/2/MJ) and our reply of the 19th on the subject of "Fort" tyres - we have been giving further consideration to the information you provided with regard to the effect on steering, especially in connection with items (a), (b), and (c) in your letter. We are very anxious indeed that it should be made possible for you to equip Rolls-Royce cars with the very best tyres that can be offered for the purpose. With this in mind, we are conducting some further experiments with a view to seeing whether it is possible to largely remove the difficulties by some modification of the tread. We thought you would be interested to know this and hope to be in a position to take the matter up with you further in the course of a week or two. We are much obliged for the information you have already given us. Yours faithfully, for DUNLOP RUBBER CO.,LTD., W Bond. Development Manager. | ||
